SD 5.1 how to modify advanced find

Hi hi,

I have SD 5.1 on Windows 2003 and I want to create a CI view that presents only CI of category Server and with brand HP or DELL.
I am not able to create a filter that satisfy my requests, since in the Advanced Tab (in the view definition or in the named filter definition) I can't make the condition:
Category=Server AND (brand=HP OR brand=Dell)

Is there a way to do it?
Or a workaround?

Thanks in advance

Re: SD 5.1 how to modify advanced find

Leonardo,

Try this:
1. Use Category = Server in the 'Simple' tab in Advanced Find.
2. In the 'Advanced' tab, add Brand = HP / Brand = Dell.
3. Also in the 'Advanced' tab, change the operator from AND to OR.

This can be saved as a Named Filter, too.

Do not forget to assign points for the answer.

Re: SD 5.1 how to modify advanced find

Thank you Pike, that's the thing I was thinking, too. But I don't know how to get the category in the simple tab. I attach a screenshot with fields I have; how to add/remove fields from simple tab?

I am the only one that always gives points, as you can see in every threads of mine!

Re: SD 5.1 how to modify advanced find

Leonardo, it looks like this time you forgot the points AND the attachment... ;-)

To get the Category field in the Simple tab, simply take note of the fields that are already there, move to 'Presentation -> Search -> Configuration Item -> Standard Search'.

Then, click the button and select the fields you took note of and include Category. I think there's a limit of 8 fields you can have in the Simple tab.

Points are welcome...

Re: SD 5.1 how to modify advanced find

Very very very sorry, I am very very very tired these days, due to Easter.

Good Easter to you Pike (better late than never!), your solution was easy, and I have to work a bit less to get awake instead of open unuseful threads.

Thanks
