SD 5.0 + Tivoli Integration

Is it possible to integrate SD 5.0 with any of products IBM Tivoli?

Re: SD 5.0 + Tivoli Integration

hi:
first of all i need to clarify this for you about the tivoli:

*The Tivoli Enterprise Console (TEC) processes all incoming events. This processing includes among others:
each event can be automatically stored in a central TEC database (in fact it may depend on rules)
*depending on rule definitions an event can be forwarded to other systems automatically
outgoing events use so-called â Trouble Ticketâ
*incoming updates on existing events use â Event Updateâ feature
3rd Party Application in our case: HP Service Desk
components of Tivoli which we can get benifit from:
**distributed TEC client software offers a flexible GUI to view several ordered sets of events which can be tailored to different user needs by filtering etc.
**Tivoli Distributed Monitoring provides â of-the-box monitoringâ for usual IT (similar HP OVO)
**Tivoli NetView is similar HP NNM

Now the integration possibilities could be in:

*Forward Tivoli TEC Events to Service Desk Incidents either automatically or manually
*Map appropriate set of Tivoli TEC Event Attributes into Service Desk Incident Attributes
*Synchronize Status updates on existing events in both directions
*Update Severity changes on existing events in Tivoli TEC towards SD
*Import Tivoli â Endpointsâ into Service Desk
Control event flow towards Service Desk in order to avoid â Event Floodingâ
*Avoidance of â Loopingâ

hope i did answer ur question.

Re: SD 5.0 + Tivoli Integration

Tivoli has a complete set of CLI commands that you could use to tie into SD 5.0. If you are using Tivoli ITM 6.x, you can create situations that will perform database calls that could update the SD db.
