Re: Removing user session in SD5.1

Hi Rajesh,
I have tried this option but i need to know if i immediately want to delete a session; can i do that? Because in current logged on user details there is a check box which states marked for deletion. How can i use that?? and whats the purpose of it??

Re: Removing user session in SD5.1

Hi,

As far as I know it works like this: once you have selected this box, the session will be killed after 2 minutes (and this is not configurable). The session is disconnected and when the client attempts to do anything that involves retieving data, it will re-connect.

Check if it works.

Re: Removing user session in SD5.1

Hi Rajesh,
I'll definately check that.
Please tell me how can i differentiate in the logged on users; which user have a named license and which user has a concurrent user license.

Re: Removing user session in SD5.1

Hi,

In the Logged On User window choose the CUSTOMIZE CURRENT VIEW -------> GROUP BY ------> ACCOUNT CONCURRENT USER

Hope this helps you.

Re: Removing user session in SD5.1

Hi,

I am using SD4.5.

So do you mean you are not able to customize the view ? When you open the LOGGED ON USER window...you can right-click/lef-click on any of the column heading & select CUSTOMIZE CURRENT VIEW.

Re: Removing user session in SD5.1

Sorry Mate,
That option is not there. I think that would not be possible in SD 5.1 :(

Re: Removing user session in SD5.1

No window...it just grouped the logged on users on the basis of the selected column.

Re: Removing user session in SD5.1

Does it allow you to change the grouping ?

Re: Removing user session in SD5.1

Hi Fenny,
can you able to select the persticular user, right click then disconnect option from logon users TAB?
If not, i will advice you to update the SP2

But using SD 5.1, i could do that.

Solution

Re: Removing user session in SD5.1

There is no feature for this in OVSD 5.1 that I'm aware of. There are no right click or menu options available when highlighting records in the Logged On Users object.

At best you can edit an existing LoggedOnUser record and check the "Marked for Removal" checkbox, but I've never seen that work. We're currently SP3.

Just chalk this up to another way 5.1 is "different". They don't want to help you manage your licenses. I guess we could be thankfull that the sessions finally terminate and depopulate correctly, but that was 3 service packs after release.

Re: Removing user session in SD5.1

Hi Fenny,

R was right, Actually i did the same way, what R told...
Sorry for misunderstanding. The only available option is to select the checkbox for user removal.
