Redundant session in SD4.5SP11

We are currently getting a lot of Max User errors for concurrent users. When I look at "Logged on Users", I see that several users have multiple sessions with the same account and client hostname. Doesn't happen all the time, but it hogs licenses and I sometimes have to restart the SD services to clear out the sessions. This is happening for the System Administrator account, too. Any ideas on why this is happening and how to keep on top of it?

Thanks,
Colleen

Hi Collen,

try these 2 threads which have details on how to identify the sessions. Using a delete script referencing the table where marked for removal=1 will kill the sessions.

Re: Redundant session in SD4.5SP11

and the why: probably network problems between your clients and the app servers are causing reconnects

Actually, this turned out to be an administrator error - namely me. I didn't set the session timeout, so when I changed it from the default to what we deemed appropriate, it resolved this issue.

Thanks, though!
