Queue lagging behind, high priority flushing

Hi,

Last week I received the following error

" Thu, 10/01/2008 15:18:49 Queue lagging behind, high priority flushing...”

I am using Service Desk 4.5 with Service Pack 18.
We have 4 load balanced application servers. We use a separate server for mail.

During this issue Users were unable to connect to Server Desk or had extremely slow response times. In viewing the Active Application server it appeared as if 1 of the servers would drop all the users and then recycle. During the recycle period Users were able to connect and response times improved. The recycling of the server did not resolve the connection issue. After the HP OpenView Service Desk 4.5 Server service had restarted and users began connecting to the recycled server, Users across servers began experiencing connection and response time issues.

To resolve this problem we shutdown the HP OpenView Service Desk 4.5 Server service on the troubled server, renamed the Cashe folder and then restarted the service.

Does anyone know of a possible cause of this problem? I am just trying to prevent this from occurring in the future. Thanks!
