Question about "Check references" functionality

Hello people,

In SP15, along with "Block/Unblock Selection" and "Bulk/Selective Deletion" HP introduced "Check References" on Administrator Console/Tools menu.

However no matter what item is currently selected on Administrator Console, by selecting "Check References" I get two roles, two ui rules and this:

java.lang.NullPointerException

Does this work normaly at your environment. If yes, does anybody have any idea why this is happening here?

Re: Question about "Check references" functionality

George. I'm not sure exactly what it is telling me (will have to read up the documentation - what a novelty) but I have just run it successfully on an SP15 system (newly built onto that SP) and it ran OK in 46.874 seconds (it proudly told me this at the end) and produced thousands of lines, 10*Role, 20*UI Rule, 1*DB Rule, thousands of Service Call.

So it looks as if the data in your system has somehow defeated it.

You'll have to raise it as a call.

Re: Question about "Check references" functionality

Hello,

After a long time I reopen this thread because the problem is more generic. Check references doesn't like UI rules who contain conditions of the type

That's why I got errors with this part

AND ( NOT (Assignment; From person equals Requestor)
OR NOT (Req Workgroup equals Assignment From workgroup))

If the condition is in DB rule I get no errors. I opened a case at HP (I even told them on what line of codes generate the exception) and now I'm waiting for resolution.

Re: Question about "Check references" functionality

George,

Have you heard back about this one ? I just tried to run the Check References on our SD 4.5 SP21 installation and got the same output as you.

Thanks in advance,

Brendon.

Re: Question about "Check references" functionality

Hello,

I think this is fixed on SP27 but I'm not quite sure. HP assured me that this will be fixed in a SP after SP26.
