Problem with Opta.jar (from SP 30)

Hi All,

We have a critical issue with the new Opta.jar file which we took from the Service Pack 30 extract and applied in our environment (HPSD 4.5 with SP28), but it did not support and the HPSD service failed to start.

Does anyone know why is it so?

Also, this works fine in our Development region, which has the same configuration as our Production (SP28).

Please help in this regard.....

Thanks in Advance...

Re: Problem with Opta.jar (from SP 30)

What type of errors are there when you try to start the service?

What does the server log say?

Re: Problem with Opta.jar (from SP 30)

I just swapped the files on my sandbox server and it worked like a charm.

Did you move from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 and did you try starting up the appserver before using the new Opta driver?

In your log file:
Fri, 21/08/2009 17:16:27 Wrong database user defined for repository: table ifc_system not found

Friggin' sweet!

Since I've never experienced this before, I'd start by clearing the server cache and rebuild server_settings.xml.

Hope that helps...

Re: Problem with Opta.jar (from SP 30)

Hi Pike,

Thanks for the reply.

We have already done the steps as you've said. We have the SQL Server 2005. Also, to our surprise, this works well in our Development region, but not in the Production. We have checked the DB user rights also and everything is fine. Still the service does not start. Is there anything that we are missing here?

Re: Problem with Opta.jar (from SP 30)

Like I said, I have not experienced this before. I just swapped the files and it worked, so I couldn't possibly know what you're missing.

There has got to be something different between the two environments. You need to identify what that is.

Also, you did not answer whether you had moved from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 and had started the appserver in SQL Server 2005 before applying the new Opta driver.

Re: Problem with Opta.jar (from SP 30)

We had migrated from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 a long time ago and were successfully running with the Opta2000.jar.

But recently tried to move to Opta.jar (taken from SP30)and got this error.

P.S.- Surely will reward the points to worthy answers (for replies also ..:))
