Prefix on the Ticket Number

I'm using SD 4.5 SP18.

Is it possible to add a prefix infront of the ticket number? for eg: For Service Call start with SC000001.

Or any workaround on doing so.

Hello Syura,

You cannot modify the way ID is generating. What you can is concatenate ID along with a prefix to a custom field.

Create a custom text field (40 chars is enough) and name it prefixed_id

Create a db rule like this:

When service call is created
OR When service call is modified
where NOT (ID is empty)
Set prefixed_id (Update Data) prefixed_id set to (Concatenate SC With [ID])

Sounds like someone used to use Remedy.

My advice is to bite the bullet. Don't try to recreate the old way of doing things. After all, you changed for a reason.
