Possible to configure approval level flow?

Hi all,

In SD we can 'assign' approvers to a Change ticket, which then triggers a mail with a voting URL for voting or create DB rules.

Here's my scenario:
A Change ticket is logged, which requires 2 approvers, who are related in the ticket.

When the ticket is created, Appr 1 gets email then he will have to approve YES before SD can trigger a mail to Appr 2. If Appr 1 rejects, then request not approved.

Is it possible to configure SD to this scenario?

Any help is great!..

Thanks,
Amy

Re: Possible to configure approval level flow?

Unfortuntely No. You would need to do them as seperate approvals.

Re: Possible to configure approval level flow?

Hi Amy,

Use separate workorders for this - WO1 for Appr 1 and a successor WO 2 for Appr 2

Hope this helps

Re: Possible to configure approval level flow?

Hi guys,

Thanks for responding. What if the approvers are dynamic?...

Thanks,

Re: Possible to configure approval level flow?

Hi Ruth,

Well, for example the acquiring of a new laptop.

Person A will log a request with Helpdesk. Person A will inform the helpdesk of who needs to approve the request before it can be purchased. So, Appr 1 and Appr 2 is related to the case.

Appr 1 gets the email and approves it. THEN only Appr 2 will get the email that Appr 1 has approved, and its his turn to approve now.

Is this possible?

Cheers,

Re: Possible to configure approval level flow?

Hi Amy,

Your example is possible manually but may be difficult to set up automatically in a template or by business logic.

Generally, my approach if a manual solution is needed is to include in the template a text field which has instructions on how to implement the change. In your example, this would say something like.

Step 1. Ask the requestor who has to approve this and put this name in WO1.

Hope this helps
