Possibility to hide work orders before the predecessor is closed?

Hi

We are running on 4.5 SP21

Our change managment want the ability to hide created work orders from the assigned workgroup until the set predecessor is closed, is this possible?

Re: Possibility to hide work orders before the predecessor is closed?

Hello Jan,

Yes, it is doable. Create a custom boolean field named "successor_viewable". Initially set this to false (through template).

Then create a db rule when work order is modified and status is closed to update successors, set successor_viewable to true.

Create a view that filters out workorders whose successor_viewable is false.

We tackled this differently. The workgroups were complaining that they got messages about WO being assigned to them BEFORE they needed to do anything (or even COULD do anything). We used a custom WORKGROUP field to hold the value which a rule would slot into the ASSIGNMENT field as the WO got started.
This may be what your guys are experiencing too?

Sorry about the double post, the ITRC forum has been buggy for me all day, giving me strange errors.

Both answers helped me :) thank you
