Ports used by Remote Update SD45

Hi
Does anybody know the ports or where I could find information on the ports that are used by Remote Update feature.[For Service Pack Upgrades].

I have a firewall that is blocking this port/s.

Thanks in Advance

Re: Ports used by Remote Update SD45

Hi Allister,

whenever i come across a situation where my OVSD server is down for longer period, i accomplish the below steps:

Admin Console --> Scheduled Tasks --> Actions --> Reschedule tasks

you may give a try once.

Re: Ports used by Remote Update SD45

Hi Allister,

what i am assuming is that you may have to open the port 40999 (just a blind guess)

thanks for your points :)

Re: Ports used by Remote Update SD45

Allister,

I assume your in reference to the function in the system panel.

First question is what Service Pack are you currently running. If i remember correctly the remote feature was introduced in SP12. Your client must be on SP12 or later the function to work.

Also it only copies the servicepack.jar file to the client. You might want to chaeck to see if the jar file was copied.

I beleive it runs over the client port 30999. Port 30980 is for SD_EVENT and port 50999 is the agent.

Re: Ports used by Remote Update SD45

Hi Dwayne

Thanks for your reply.

My first guess would have been that both 30999 and 40999 should have been open for normal communication to work but that is obviously not the case

I will make sure that both these ports are open and then try Remote Update.

Service Pack 15 is currently being used.

Thanks once again :-)
