Owner Person/Org Conflict in OVSD 4.5 CMDB

Hello,
We have an automated script that loads (or updates) CI’s in our CMDB on a daily basis. One of these CI types can change owners fairly routinely. We use a scheduled task with an import map set up in ECW to import these CI’s in. If the owner person changes however, these changes are not getting updated in the CI. Here is the error:
(while processing attribute CMDB_OWNER_PERSON
No item found with this SSO ID. Please enter an existing SSO ID.)

I think its due to the fact that that the new owner person is not in the same org, however im not sure if its possible to clear the previous owners org so that the new owner can populate into the CI. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this conflict so that the new owner can populate in automatically?

Thanks,
- Adam

Re: Owner Person/Org Conflict in OVSD 4.5 CMDB

With sp14 (I think) you can use the __empty__ command in data exchange. What you can do is extract the CI's twice. In the first class set the OWNER_ORG to the literal '__empty__' and in the second class set the CI's owner person to what ever is extracted. This should also set the owner org to match the persons org.

I am not sure if you could do this in a single class (you could try it)

Hope this makes sense.
