Opening a WEB Page via actions

Hi all,

How can I set an action to open a WEB page.
When I select iexplore.exe as application and set its parameter as www.google.com,
It does not produce what I wait for, which is simply opening www.google.com web page...

Thanks for your helps

Re: Opening a WEB Page via actions

Hi Sertan,
Of course it is possible to create an action for this. Before find out how, just tell us when do you want to trigger that action and from where!

Re: Opening a WEB Page via actions

Much thanks for your time Dan,

I wish to trigger it from actions, simply by selecting it, but if I really need to bound it to any condition, it can also be triggered when the status is changed to [something]

I almost forgot,

All I'm trying to get is over WEB.
This mostly makes sense.

Re: Opening a WEB Page via actions

Hi Sertan,
I see two options for this:
1. If you want a URL link to o specified WEB address, simply right click on shortcut bar and add o shortcut to desired web address.
2. If you want to access different web pages then you can create a smart action named Open URL. This smart action will use Internet Explorer as application and a parameter (web address). To provide this parameter for smart action you have to do the following:
1. Create a custom field named "URL address" of 40-255 car. text type.
2. Create a buton named "Open link" to trigger to that web address.
3. Put these two fields in your favorite CI form.
4. Define a UI rules that activate smart action after you push Open link buton (Presume that URL address is filled!).
Seems to be complicated?
Keep in touch for details in screenshots.
Best regards,
Dan
