OVSD (Open View Service Desk) 4.5 for Windows 7

I was able to make it works for Windows 7 32bit and 64bit,
if you have done the msado15.dll regsvr32 and still not working,
try this: go to any vista machine and copy the msado15.dll and replace it...
try regsvr32 again.

Hope this helps.

Re: OVSD (Open View Service Desk) 4.5 for Windows 7

Thanks for you reply, but what I meant is that there does not seem to be an officialy supported version of OVSD for Win7 by HP (I could not find this information yet).

Re: OVSD (Open View Service Desk) 4.5 for Windows 7

Hi,i'm not belong to OVSD support..therefore couldnt tell you abt official support version of OVSD release which can install directly in Win7.
Eventually Win7 are still not official yet in my work location and if any issue related, we can only search it through forum.
How abt your site?

Service Desk 4.5 Client 2008 works flawlessly with Windows 7. Get your support agreements up to date and you'll be smooth sailing.

You do not have to play around with regedit or copy any files. Just do this:

Install Microsoft VM version 5.0.3 (MSJavx86) then reboot. Then install Openview, after this install SP21 and start Openview. I have done this on six different PC's today 32 and 64 bit and Openview is working on all of them.

Re: OVSD (Open View Service Desk) 4.5 for Windows 7

For MS Windows 7 64 bit my HP OV Service Desk 4.5 works properly:

- Install Microsoft VM (for example, MSJavx86.exe, Product version 5.00.3802)
- Install HPOV SD (run setup.exe from HPOV SD kit "client" folder)
- Copy msado15.dll (1425408 bytes) from your Windows 7 system in a location (for example C:\)
- Copy regsvr32.exe from your Windows 7 system in same location with msado15.dll
- Change properties of regsvr32.exe - Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows Vista
- Register dll
Run cmd as Administrator
Type, for example, c:\regsvr32 "c:\msado15.dll" and press Enter
- Upgrade HPOV to your server version
- Try HP OV Service Desk

Re: OVSD (Open View Service Desk) 4.5 for Windows 7

I recall this error even when running SD4.5 on Windows XP. We got rid of it by installing the latest version of MDAC back in the day and sometimes uninstalling/reinstalling the client afterwards.

HTH!

Hi,

why don't you go with the latest SP 39 released 2012-Jan-09?

and Web Console for Service Pack 39 http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM1314383
