OVSD 5.1 client giving Java lang error related to "Out of Memory'


One of the OVSD 5.1 users who has the client installed on his desktop is unable to open it. He gets java..out of memory lang error.

We tried to un-install and re-installed the client software a couple of times, but it did not help.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of this Java-memory error? Please let me know.

"Out of Memory" is self-explainatory.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the application is not likely to change anything as the problem is lack of resources to process data.

There could be many reasons behind the error.

Some suggestions:

If this box has the same hardware capabilities as any other box in your environment, check how much memory you have left to run SD.

Also, check the user role, there might be a query unrestricted view that tries to load a large number of records.

Try having the user connect to SD via java webstart and notice if you still get the error.

I had to clear the views in the sd cache and i got rid of this issue. Thanks for suggestions.
