OV Error message: Unable to select Caller name (SD 4.5 SP12)

Hi,

Has anyone ever come across the errors attached. Second One pops up after clicking ok on first.

Appears to be role related but am not sure

Hi Peter,

the first thing that comes to mind is to check your licemes for the modules.
Have any expired in particular the SLM license?

Admin console-system panel-License

Look for the one called Service. Does it have an expiration date?

Does anything have an expiration date that is passed?

No, nothing set to expire, seems to be for only one role at the moment, will try getting users on to other roles.

Hi Mark,

You may be correct in saying it is a licensing issue as now all roles are unable to select a Person Record in the Caller Field without gatting the error message.

What version are you using? I remember having the same issue with the first release of OVSD 5.1. As soon as the temporary license of SLM was working there was no problem but afterwards the exact same error started. However to pick a caller or work with organizations you should not need the SLM License. We also escalated and after upgrading to SP1 the issue was solved.

Hi,
I am using SD 4.5 SP12
I have received a fix for this problem.

Go to chekbox "automatically invoke service quick find on service call" is selected? It is located in Admin console->System panel->General Settings->Application Tab. If yes, this is the reason for the problem, as that will do a check for receiving persons, receiving organization on selecting a caller's name. If you unselect it (or it is unselected already) and thÑ problem will remain, then this should be the problem with licenses, while it might be related to your SLM license.
