Non-English characters in OV messages

Hi All!

We have OVOU 8.21. When a message is sent from some machines, the German umlaut chararcters come across ok (i.e. Ü). In other cases, they come across like this: \u001. As far as I can see the LANG variables are all set to to "C". The template is the so, I cannot figure out why the difference. Any help is appreaciated.

Re: Non-English characters in OV messages

Jimmo,

If the encoding of the data (not the LANG) at the source the same as the encoding of the data in OVSD? Co\u001ld this be the problem?

Re: Non-English characters in OV messages

That is definately what seems to be happening. However, I cannot see any difference in the encoding configuration. Further, I get the umlauts from some machines and not from others. :-(
