Re: New SDESK 4.5 patch(es) available SDSK_00058

Hello,

There is a problem there (I already notified HP). The list of symptoms under SDSK_00058 are identical to the ones of SP12 (SDSK_00047)

To see the actual fixes have a look at doc\defects.htm

Hi there,

There is 1 point worth highlighting is that when you upgrade you will have to rebuild your attachments.

Re: New SDESK 4.5 patch(es) available SDSK_00058

Hello
Ruth is quite right. Actualy the "attachment" upgrade must be done before the actual upgrade of the application server!

Re: New SDESK 4.5 patch(es) available SDSK_00058

Hi all,

Other comments are extremely welcome. I will need to upgrade some environments asap because of the unreliable reconciliation in SP15.

Thanks

Thanks!
i decided to copy it here because it seems that sp16 can not be imlemented without this file!

In Service Pack 16 (SDSK_00058) a new attachment folder structure is implemented;
ITSM007474 - Attachment limitation encountered
For this attachment migration a Perl script is provided that is also mentioned
in the Service Pack 16 documentation;

Officially the file should be located in folder>\doc\itsm007474\mig_attachments.pl, but it isn't.

Fix

This file will be added to Service Pack 17.
The file will be available via SSO and is called SDSK_00060
For earlier access, contact your local support organization

Re: New SDESK 4.5 patch(es) available SDSK_00058

Seems that when using data exchange with reconciliation for large files you get unreliable results in your changefile.

I find this a very serious problem since I use this a lot at different customer sites. SP16 claims to solve this problem.

Therefore I will need to implement SP16 as soon as possible at customer sites to get the data exchange processes to work correctly.

I just meant to say that because I'm in a hurry to implement, all information about SP16 (bugs, tips, issues,...) is very welcome. (I do not have the time to test everything myself)

Cheers

Re: New SDESK 4.5 patch(es) available SDSK_00058

wow, someone was sleeping very tight when he was grabbing all bits together and creating SDSK_00058.exe...Next to the fact that KB article pointing to fixed itemlist was taken from SP12 on patch site, the start of this SP doesn't look promising

Hopefully they included the code for all fixes, they mentioned on the real list...

Re: New SDESK 4.5 patch(es) available SDSK_00058

This is ridiculus.

We have HP here as outsourcers for a large scale SLA project. They will start implementing reporting for the SLA based on Service Desk on first tuesday of November. That means that we have to decide SP by then, either staying on SP13 or going to SP16.

...and now this!

this is ridiculus. Plain simple.

Re: New SDESK 4.5 patch(es) available SDSK_00058

Somehow, the patch team have managed to outdo even their previous efforts with SP16!
I'd say go to SP15 - it seems to be the best SP for quite a while.

Re: New SDESK 4.5 patch(es) available SDSK_00058

This is unbelieveable.

The concept of Quality Control seems to have completely slipped by the HP patch team.

Re: New SDESK 4.5 patch(es) available SDSK_00058

Grrrrrrrrrr !!!! I was hoping to try SP16 out today and have just noticed the missing perl script. This does not help HP gain a repuation for quality.

Regards

Ruth

PS Vasily - you gave George points for agreeing with me but gave none to me which seems a bit unfair.
