Microsoft Java Virtual Machine Support

Hi

I am using HP Openview Service Desk client with Service Pack 13. After installing it, when I try to open the applicaiton it says:

"unable to start the application--the java virtual machine cannot be loaded. class not registered HP Openview"

I had a look and I don't have the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (MSJVM) installed. I went to download it, only to discover that The MSJVM reached the end of its life as of June 30, 2009. (See here: http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/java/default.mspx)

What should I do?

Re: Microsoft Java Virtual Machine Support

Hi Tim,

To overpass this, HP released a new SUN Java SD client (Client 2008). But it can be used after SP23 and major releases.

I believe that you will need to start testing/thinking about upgrading your environment.

Re: Microsoft Java Virtual Machine Support

Or you can simply install MSJVM from the SD installation CD.

Reaching end of lifecycle/support does not necessarily mean you cannot install/use it.

Hope that helps.
