Logon error in SD - Updated failed

Hi All,

Im getting the following error everytime when i try to access Service Desk.

"Updated Failed, please conact your system administrator"

I reinstalled the JVM and the Service Pack. I also reinstalled the whole application. I removed the Service Desk folder and rewrite the servicepack.jar file located in the client/lib folder.

Can anyone help me please?.

Hi Cesar,

Try clearing also your client cache under:
C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Hewlett-Packard\OpenView\Service Desk\

Delete all but the 2 files:
Views.DAT
user_settings.xml

I actually deleted all the files including views.dat and user_setting.xml but I am still getting the error.

Cesar,

Open a command prompt in the client and go to bin directory into the SD_CLIENTHOME directory:
C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\OpenView\service desk 4.5\client\bin>

And run this command: sd_version.bat

It will give you the SD client version that you have installed. Make sure is on the same service pack level as your SD server.

The output is something like this:
Acronym: SD
Version: 4.5.0588.2904 (SP29)
Company: hp OpenView

Are you getting this behavior for all client connections? :-O

How about disabling Remote Upgrade just while trying to connect?

can you resolve the sd_server hostname by sd_server ip-address on that client machine?
