Load balancing and fail over - multiple arrays

Good morning,

Just wanted to know if it is possible to set up multiple (independently functioning) load balancing and failover arrays for the service desk application servers without using any other products?

One of these arrays would reside in a DMZ, the other within a trustred network.

If not, what products and configuration have you used to acheive this functionality.

Re: Load balancing and fail over - multiple arrays

Andrew,

The application servers are load balancing and fail-over by design. The issue with you maybe the location of the DB server. I would assume that it will be in the trusted network and you may find both security and performance issues between the DMZ app server and the DB server. I have normally seen citrix server used to allow internet access to the app servers.

Hope this helps.

Andrew,

AFAIK you can't setup two arrays for failover. In this case I would suggest to make your inside application server load-balanced and the ones in DMZ just single application servers.
