Limiting Available Services to a role

Greetings!

Our SD implemantation allows Users to select the Service associated to their complaint or need. However, we have other services that have more to do with infra-structure and who's CIs are monitored and generate Incidents, that we don't want the end user to be able to select, for the sake of error-avoidance and so as not to clutter ip the list with a lot of choices.

Is this possible in any way shape or form? How difficult would it be?

Hi,

If you have less no of Services that needs to blocked then use a UI rule with the value that needs a restriction.

If the Serivce is one of those then display a error message.

This can be done based on the Folderwise.

Hi there,

The SLM module is designed for you to relate users or organisations to the relevant SLAs and then only services related via those SLAs would be offered.

Typically these would be Business services and the others you mention would be operational ones.

Can you use this approach?

Thank you for the reply...I forgot to mention however that our end users use Service Pages only...will that implementaion work in that respect too?

Hi Marco,

Via Service Pages the use should only be offered the services they receive via an SLA - at least, that was the case with 4.5.

With version 5 who knows!

So would I have to create "generic" SLAs for each of the services and then assign each SLA to said users.

Would that gurantee that the Service combo only displays the services for which the user has an SLA...even in the Service Pages?
