JDBC error when UI rule update

Hi,

I am working with Service Desk 4.5 SP33

And when I try to update UI rule the following error happends:

JDBC error 1407: ORA-01407: cannot update ("SERVICEDESK"."REP_JAVAOBJECTS"."JAV_INSTANCE") to NULL
, SQL state: 72000 for query: UPDATE rep_javaobjects
SET jav_instance= ?

I was trying to find something about this error in Knowledge base, but it is only 2 similar posts without solution.

DB check (sd_dbconfwizard.bat with -CHECKSTRUCTURE) says that DB is OK.

Maybe somebody fix this problem?

Best Regards,
Dariya

Re: JDBC error when UI rule update

What does the rule look like?
What is the update you are trying to make?

Did you try and run the SD45ViewRules checker (ITSM007071 as noted in the thread you bumped) to find out if the rule is healthy?

Points are welcome.

Re: JDBC error when UI rule update

Hi!

I have already tried the rule checker - there is no problem found.

Actually there was a long story with the DB that was used. Originally it was Oracle DB on HP-UX platform, later we migrated it to Oracle on Windows platform through DB dump from Oracle HP-UX to Oracle on Windows. It was loaded successfully without any error.
After that I have the problem with UI-rules.

Some more details:
I tried to create UI-rule with "update data" action. And when the rule is short, I mean the name consists of one or two simbols, and the update action is also short (for example: "field1" set to "value1") then everything is ok. But when I try to create a UI-rule with a long name with two or more update actions then I have this problem.

And I can't understand if it is a problem of Oracle DB or a problem of SD4.5.

In the DB the table "SERVICEDESK"."REP_JAVAOBJECTS" exists, and all the constraints also exist.

What do I need to do to find a solution to this problem? Any ideas?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards,
Dariya.

Re: JDBC error when UI rule update

I'd have my DBA look at the ORA-01407 error if I were you.

Re: JDBC error when UI rule update

Also, could you post some screenies so anyone who comes across this thread can understand what your update to the UI Rule looks like?
