Informing that a new CI is up

Hi, there,
I intend to do the following:
- When a new CI is registered, in association with a Service, I want to fill in a field that holds the responsible Group for that Service, and automaticly puts it as an e-mail destinatary and send an e-mail to this group, informing the members of the group a new CI is up.

example:
SERVER1 is registered - will attend SERVICE1.
WKGP1 is responsible for SERVICE1.

After SERVER1 is registered, i want to generate an e-mail that automatcly informs WKGP1 that SERVER1 is up.

I have no idea on how doing this. Is it possible ?

thanks

Re: Informing that a new CI is up

You can create a CI DB rule that says when a new CI is created and service equals "service name" and workgroup equals "workgroup name" then email "email address".

If the service and workgroup are tied together then you can also us a UI rule to auto populate the workgroup field based on the service.

well, is not that simple...

I put a wkgp field at Services Form and, when a CI is registered with a Service, I made a DB Rule that sends a e-mail to [Managed by service;WG (E-mail)], but it not seems to work...

another thing is i don´t know if an e-mail can be sent when a CI is linked to more than one services...

thanks
