Re: How to use sd_event.exe

I've not seen any documentation regarding error codes either... :(

Attached is a file that I use. It's simple but it works.

Can you check to see if the output of your API is in a compatible format?

Re: How to use sd_event.exe

Hi guys,

have a look at Data Exchange Guide which is a part of your SD documentation. sd_event is described from page 158 till page 180. It is with chapter about troubleshooting.

I started with this doc and I have to say that it was sufficient.

Did you set up a log file and error file name in your sd_event specification?

good luck

Re: How to use sd_event.exe

Hello
I thing the problem is that I do not have a Servlet to work wint sd_event. I will install Tomcat and do the test.

Re: How to use sd_event.exe

Hi Carlos,

you do not need Tomcat and other web components for sd_event integration!

You should only install the sd_event integration - you can find it on the installation CD ROM in the Integration section.
Then you will have in the installation directory new directory called 'event'.

Re: How to use sd_event.exe

Oh yes Jan, I do this, but do not work. My log file look as shown:
[EVENT_1368]
VALUE_LIST="username=datanet#password=1234#mapping=asignar#className=asignar#modus=INSERT#llamada=1234#asignacion=connp#"
SERVER=ciclope
PORT=30980
CLIENT_ERROR=
LANGUAGE=GB
TRY=1
LOGFILE=sd_event.log
ERROR_LOGFILE=sd_event_error.log
TIMESTAMP=11/25/2004 13:07:56
SEND=true

My INI file:
[SD_EVENT]
LOGFILE=sd_event.log
ERROR_LOGFILE=sd_event_error.log
ACCOUNT=datanet/1234
SERVER=ciclope
MAPPING=asignar
CLASSNAME=asignar
MODUS=insert

I read in some place that I need a servlet to acces port 30980 trouht sd_event.exe. Service Pages work with Tomcat. Then, if I install Service Pages, I thing I solve my problem but is only a teory.

Re: How to use sd_event.exe

Hi Carlos,

have you checked both log files? I mean sd_event.log and sd_event_error.log. Probably in the second one you can find the root cause.

Do you run sd_event command on the appliction server or on another machine? If you run it on another server you should check firewall setting, sd_event installation etc.

keep me informed

Re: How to use sd_event.exe

make sure the http process is running on the app-server. de-select, apply and then select http in the serversettings editor.

Re: How to use sd_event.exe

Hi,

I hope you've resolved your issue by now.If not,I have been using sd_event.exe to integrate SD with NNM - and have managed to pass events from NNM with success.

Maybe having a look at my SD_event.ini file and the command will be of help.

sd_event.ini :
[SD_EVENT]
LOGFILE=sd_event.log
ERROR_LOGFILE=sd_event_error.log
ACCOUNT=system/servicedesk (the service desk account being used)
SERVER=172.28.62.136 (this is the IP of my service desk server on my network)
PORT=30980
MAPPING=external_event
CLASSNAME=incident
MODUS=insert
LANGUAGE=GB

actual command in NNM:
"F:\\program files\\hewlett-packard\\openview\\service desk 4.5\\event\\bin\\sd_event.exe" -f "F:\\program files\\hewlett-packard\\openview\\service desk 4.5\\event\\bin\\sd_event.ini" -v event_id=\"23341" description=\"Data warehouse support program down" CI = "NNM6SERVER"
//Add this to "OnDomLoad" event
