How to search a CI?

Hello,
We use HPOV Service Desk 4.5 (sp23) and we have one problem.
We need to search CI by "Asset tag" (just with typing it in field Configuration Item on Service Call Form)
We have created string field "asset tag" in users fields, after we've changed CI Search by this field.
If there are text symbol (for example "a1255") in asset tag everythig is OK. If in asset tag there are only number symbols (for example "1255") - we type it in field on Service Call form, press Enter and error window appear with message "Element with this ID was not found".

try use ?1255 or *1255 .
