How to monitor contracts and Licenses in Service Desk?

Dear Friends,
We have SD 5.1 , how we can monitor below tasks from SD, we want SD to send us mail before they are going to expire.

1- the antivirus license
2- The GP renewal
3- MS license
4- Internet connection renewal
5- Our DSL renewal
6- Wmail renewal
7- The Photo copier machine maintenance contract ....etc.

Guys it is very urgent please respond.
if it is doable and how!!!

Hi Fayaz,

Are you trying to use Service Desk application to monitor all that?

I believe that you are looking for another application, something like Openview Operations or Openview NNM (uses to monitor processes, nodes, etc) then when any of those processes is down, then such application will trigger a incident ticket in Service Desk; but you can not use SD to actively monitor those processes/applications.

We want to monitor the contracts in service desk like MS LIC , DSL lease etc..so before expire date SD should inform us and escalate as well.

Fayaz,

I guess then that you can create a DB rule that uses as the condition the date of expiration of such records.

When you create a rule, you can set it to be executed on a specific date/time based on a field of the form, e.g. send a mail notification X days before the "expiration date".

How I can upload the Maintenance Contracts to service Desk, any idea and also while escalation MC should be attached with the mail.

Hi Fayaz,

When you say "How I can upload the Maintenance Contracts to service Desk", do you mean how can you import the MC records from an external file, like excel, text file?

To import any data into SD you can use Data Exchange feature.
