Hello,

On SP10 you can "create" (actually, enable) 5 types of custom fields: Codes, Numbers, Duration (it is listed as number), Booleans and Text fields of various sizes.

To do that go to Administration Console, Data, Custom Fields and double click on the entity to which you want to add the custom field.

A panel will open, from the dropdown menu select the field you want to enable, give it a name, select the appearance and select the categories in which the field would be enabled (read write). You can either select all categories or selected categories.

Press OK and you 're done!

On SP19 an later there is the ability to create truly custom fields and there are new types (float number, strings of different sizes) as well entity references.

And on SP20 there is the ability to create custom codes of any type (tree or ordered).
