How can I pass SMTP authentication ?

Hi.

I use OVSD4.5 SP16.
And I am thinking about send e-mails from OVSD.
(For example, when items are assiguned to me, I'd like to send me e-mail)

However, my SMTP server request User/Pswd authentication on sending e-mails from mail client.

I wasn't able to find those setting in OVSD.
Does anyone have good idea ?

HI
If your OS MS then you can install smtp service on local server, but select another port then 25 , because 25 used by HPSD application server, then you can use Auth-n process in local smtp and SD tune send email to local smtp.

Hi uhyo,

I would have thought you should be able to get the receiving email server to accept the smpt connection without user/password. What email server are you using - it may have some relay protection or other restriction that you could tweak to specifically allow the Service Desk server to smtp to it.

Cheers
