HP Service Desk - defaulting a template to a particular form

Is there anyway to set a default template to a particular form. I would like to have various forms and each form haave it's own default template.

Another Option would be to in a UI rule have a condition operator of the form name.

Hello Bob,

A part of this can be done with the use of dynamic forms, introduced on SP18. However because of a bug specific to changing template, you have to use SP19 in order for a ui rule about dynamic forms & template to work.

See the documentation on dynamic forms for more information.

I am on SP 17 and I am investigating moving to 5.1, if I don't move to 5.1 then I will install SP 19

Hi Bob,

you can only set one default template per item. This is limiting.

However, what SP are you on? One way to try and do it is to use a smart action to launch the form and set default values but this may mean a lot of smart actions.

With the later SP's generic forms have been introduced.
