Re: HP OV SD 4.5 SP17 can you add extra fields to your forms?

Hello nkhan,

In OVSD 4.5 you can add in form any "standard" field and every *enabled* custom field. So if you need to add a custom field, first you have to enable it.

In SP19 the ability of creation of entirely new custom fields (and several more types of custom fields) is added. In SP20 the ability of creation of custom code fields (ordered or hierarchical is added).

Re: HP OV SD 4.5 SP17 can you add extra fields to your forms?

Hello nkhan,

No worries. To enable a custom field open administrator console and go to Data/Custom Fields/

Entity can be any of Configuration Item/Person/Service Call etc.

Double click to open.

From the "Field" drop down select a field to activate. Give it a name on and select the appropriate display format. Then check "Activate".

Now, custom fields can be activated either for all categories (that means that they will be active only if the category of the item matches one of the list) or for all categories. Thus you must select either "All categories" or choose a list of them.

After activating it you can add it to a form and use it in ui/db rules, actions etc.
