Forced clearing client cache

SD 4.5 sp24
Problem: any changes of UI rules doesn`t apply to client before users restart client with checkbox "clear cache on exit" on client-side. Lots of users have this chekbox turned off.

Question:
1) how to fix it?
or 2) how to force this chechbox turning on?
or 3) how to force updating client cache when i need this?

Re: Forced clearing client cache

If only life were that simple...

1) Cannot be fixed because it ain't broken.

1, 2 & 3) Use the banner application or the MOTD notification to let users know changes are being made and that they need to clear cache and restart the client and maybe even check the "clear cache on exit".

Now, a more complicated approach would involve mass-distribution of a script that cleared the user's cache folder or devise a way for the SD client start menu/desktop icon to call the /PURGECACHE switch in all user workstations.

Have fun...
Points are welcome!

Re: Forced clearing client cache

1) it`s broken. Because lots of users have problem: checkbox "clear cache on exit" magically gets disabled.

banners wouldn`t help, because people can ignore them.

The Idea is distributing scripy/application, which would clear cache and call it by using sd_agentservice. I`ll try that.

Re: Forced clearing client cache

It is so hard to control the user options, because like you said, users can change this manually, and you can not disable such feature via form designer.

Maybe you could have a script that is executed during user login, th script will go and delete user's cache in their Win profile.

Of course, this is something outside Service Desk scope, although a good Windows administrator should be able to accomplish such task.
