Error configuring Service Desk 4.5 with SQL Server

I am trying to configure Hp Service Desk 4.5 with MSSQL Server. But I am getting the following error:-

"Failed to open connection to service desk repository
java.net.SocketTimeOutException:Receive TimeOut

The user either does not exist or isn't an administrator"

If anyone has encountered this problem earlier please tell me how to fix this. It is really urgent.

The message implies that the user account/password combination does not exist does not have the correct permissions.

Can you connect to the SQL database via Query Analyser using the account that you have? If you can login then do you see all of the OVSD tables (they all start with IFC, REP or ITSM)

Hi,

Check if you have created the username & password for accessing the SD db. If you have then check if you able to connect successfully to the DB from the Server Setting---->Database Account Tab.
