Error accessing file on FTP server

Hi,

We are using OVSD 5.1. On some occasions we get the error "Error accessing file on FTP server.....FTP-error: 550 Command PORT failed" when trying to open an attachment in a ServiceCall. On another occasion or from another client the attachment opens just fine. We cannot see a pattern on when this happens. Does anyone have an idea?

Re: Error accessing file on FTP server

Hi Mikael,

If this occurs always on specific machines, make sure that those machines have access to the FTP server.

Remember that when attachments are added to or pulled from a Service Call, the client PC opens the connection to the FTP server directly.

So, both the PC and its user needs to have access to FTP.

Re: Error accessing file on FTP server

Unfortunately this is not related to specific machines. Last time it occured there were two attachments in one ServiceCall. One of the attachments worked fine while the other resulted in the error.

We have this error too
It doesn`t depend on machine or servicecall. After restarting SD client this error disappears.
Rodd, which FTP server do you use? IIS?
Recently we migrated to another FTP server and i don`t remember this error after that. But i`m not sure that this is solution.

Re: Error accessing file on FTP server

Hi,

Have you tried using Passive mode under Attachment settings? maybe this is caused by a time out connection thrown by the ftp server.

Maybe it is worth to check that.
