Displaying a CI Form

Hi,

I’m using SD4.5 SP17.

I have a form with a button on it which when clicked triggers a UI Rule which in turn, runs a Command Exec Action to open a CI form.

The Command Exec Action passes the ID of the item as a parameter.

The CI form opens and displays the CI information.

Well…….most of the time anyway.

The problem is, sometimes it doesn’t work!

On PC’s where it has previously worked, it does not return any error messages to the screen, it simply doesn’t do anything. The command window briefly flashes up then disappears and nothing else happens. The CI form doesn’t open.

If the HPOV session is logged out and then back in again, the process usually starts to work again. The CI form does open.

Please can anybody give me any idea why this may be happening?

Thanks.

Re: Displaying a CI Form

Hi Peter,

I presume that you are runing the sd_dataform command direct from the UI rule.

You could try the following and see if this works on all systems

Set up sd_dataform as an application and run the command parameters from a smart action (the UI rule can call the smart action instead of running the command directly.

Re: Displaying a CI Form

Mark,

Yes, I'm running sd_dataform.bat, sorry missed that bit out of the explanation.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try and let you know.

Re: Displaying a CI Form

Mark,

That solution seems to work great, thanks for that. Points awarded.

Now for the next little problem.....
