Date format in emails out of Service Call

I'm using Service Desk 4.5 SP 17. I have a database rule that sends an email to an address and as part of the email body it sends the actual finish date. When the email is sent the date looks like mm.dd.yy but in the database it's stored mm/dd/yy. Is there a way to get the date to show up with the '/' and not the '.' in the email? Thanks for any help.

Bryan,

The outgoing emails use the formats specified for the System Admin account. Change this accounts date format and see if that fixes your issue. You may need to restart the application server(s) to have this change applied.
