Database rule name in history

Anyone know if its possible to get the database rule name in the history? We have a lot of database rules and it would be great to be able to identify the name of the rule that was executed. especially if multiple rules are executed.

We are running v4.5 SP20

Re: Database rule name in history

Hello,

Well, there are two options. Either enable rule debbuging and check the server log file or create a custom text field and modify every db rule you have to also set the custom text fields its name. Make sure tha this custom text field is audited.

Hi George / Niels,

Can you pls explain in detail of the second option recommended (custom field)(How to enable?). I am planning to implement the same in our environment.

Re: Database rule name in history

hi!

01. Create a custom filed.
02. Enable this filed for auditing
03. In the DB Rule, when you define the actions, create one more action to Update the custom filed with an appropriate name, which matches with the DB Rule.
04. Do the step 03 for all the DB rules.

Now, if you see the history, you can see that the new custom filed is changes with the name of the DB Rule (ie: it get updated with the value what you specified)

Please let us know, if you need any more assistance.
