DB rule audit history shows field updated but it is blank on form

I am using Web Interface SRM to feed into Service Desk 4.5 SP25 and have a few fields that are updated by DB rules that takes the value from a sd custom text field and converts it into a coded field in Service desk. I have auditing turned on that show that the system admin has updated the coded field to the correct value but the field is blank. This does not happen all the time and happens to 4 or 5 different fields and all have a different db rule that does the update form a text field to coded field. Like I said it shows the the coded fields is updated by system administrator in the history but the field is blank. I am able to select those coded fields in the form with no issues so it is not a permission issue. This happen in SP19 and when we moved to SP25
