DB-rule: Triggering by Approval Response (SD 4.5 SP27)

I want to make a db-rule based on Approval Response (in Service call), so that when Approval Response is 'Approved' the rule is triggered. However, Approval Response is not available in rule conditions. Because of this there seems no way to trigger a rule based on approval outcome. I cannot understand why this should be so, and it seriously hampers our approval process.

Does anyone have a solution to this? Any suggestions will be greatly rewarded as usual :-).

Hi Michael,

what kind of field is this "Approval Response"? is it a custom field or an out of the box field renamed?

Please see attached image, to see what are the available fields for Approval in Service Call, I do not have "Approval Response" anywhere.

Yes, it is not available as a field, however is shown in the form, under Approval (Se attachment).

Oh, and it is an out-of-the-box field.

And we have renamed it from the default "Approval result" to Approval response".
