DB Rule not working.

Hello,

I have modified the SSP pages to enable insertion of Work Order.WorkOrder insertion is working fine. However, once the WO is created through SSP it is not executing a DB rule, which sends an EMAIL to no of people. If you change, the status of work order (through SSP) from initiated to in progress or assigned the WO to some person, related DB rule works fine. Any ideas....

P.S. Existing DB Rule works fine if you create WO using SD client.

Re: DB Rule not working.

Please find attached ZIP file contains the DB RUle details.DB rule is working fine if you insert the Work Order from SD Client. But do not work if you insert the Work Order through SSP.There is no entery in log file also.

Is there any DB Rule class files we need to call to execute the DB rule?

Re: DB Rule not working.

Hi there,

I am not sure why it is not firing but does it work if you alter the condition to be:

"When WO is created"
"Template = your email template"

Hope this helps

Re: DB Rule not working.

When you say you have modified SSP did you use the web-api.jar or are you inserting directly into the database?

Re: DB Rule not working.

We are directly inserting into database using connection.asp file.Does it make any difference?

Thanks

Re: DB Rule not working.

Nilesh,

The DB rules are executed in the server application layer of OVSD. By inserting data directly into the database, you :

1) will not trigger the DB rules
2) risk invalidating your H-P support contract

It is therefore strongly advised NEVER to update the database in any way other than via the web-api or the client application.

Re: DB Rule not working.

Nilesh I can not stress what Josiah has said about violating your HP support if you have one...

Please also note why would trouble yourself and insert directly into the DB when the API is extremly helpful to you so you can do the simple things like create items??? preoperly...
