Crystal Reports and Category fields

Hello Friends!

I'm writing a Crystal Report where I need to show the Service Call category, but instead of showing the last leaf (the SC Category itself) I need to show all the path in the categories tree (just like the SDesk 4.5 GUI does).

Has anybody already done the Crystal Reports function that generates the path as in

Cat_Root/Cat_1/Cat_2/Cat_3

?

Thanks in advance!!

Re: Crystal Reports and Category fields

What is the DB that you are using? If it's oracle or SQL 2005 or higher you can construct a "tree query" to do what you want. If you are using sql2000 then the easiest way to do that is to join itsm_codes using cod_cod_oid as many times times as the "depth" of your category tree.

Hey George, thank you very much!
I was thinking on the multiple join option, but I didnt like it because it's not flexible enough.

Do you have a sample for that "tree query"?

Re: Crystal Reports and Category fields

Sorry, no. We use SQL2000.
