Creating a Subcontract call

hi all,
may be it sounds simple but i want to know how to use the subcontract call mechanism? I added the "Subcontract Call" reference set to the service call form but when I open the form I just find it greyed; i.e Unable to use it. Do I have to do anything else to activate it?

Fady

Re: Creating a Subcontract call

Hi there,

Is the Action "Create subcontract call - copy ....." available on the Action menu?

If so, try and then see what is available via the reference.

If not, what version are you using and do you have a license for SLM module?

Hope this helps

Re: Creating a Subcontract call

Hi Ruth,

1- Using the Action "Create subcontract call - copy ....." worked!
but the new subcontract call is Read only.
I cannot edit it from inside the main Service call.

2- I don't have license for SLM, are you sure it is required to make the subcontract call mechanism work?

Re: Creating a Subcontract call

Hi there,

In version 4.5, I have a vague memory that you did need SLM to use it. For version 5 I am not so sure.

Can you amend the subcontract call if you open it directly from a view rather than via the linked call?

Re: Creating a Subcontract call

I can modify the subcontract call when i open it from a view and not from inside the parent Call. I think this is the normal behavior. I am using SD 5.1 and it seems that the SLM license is not required to make subcontract calls work.

Thanks Ruth for the help :)
