Hi, Regarding HP Service Desk 4.5 SP17 I have 1 question Is it possible to block new change creation after 5:00 PM as when a user create new change case after 5:00 PM he'll have warning message that He is not able to create new case?
It will take two UI rules and a custom text field. The first ui rule will be executed when a new item is opened and set the custom text field to $HH$ (type this exactly at the update data). However, there is a catch. $HH$ will have the value of the hour of the current time in UTC.
So, if you are in UTC timezone the second rule will be evaluated before the item is saved and custom field is not 08 OR 09 OR 10 OR 11 OR 12 OR 13 OR 14OR 15 OR 16 As action it will display a message of ERROR type notifying that user isn't allowed to create a change at this time.
If your timezone is not UTC, you must do the appropriate changes (adding or subtract to the values 08 - 16 according to your time zone).
If you were in SP18 or later you could warn the user that he/she is not allowed to create a new change as soon as the user tried to create a new item. However this can't be done in SP17 since before Service Pack 18, UI rules and Database rules could only be triggered by a single event.
