Create SP-Accounts

Hello

The problem is that we have about 39000 SP-Accounts. Everytime I have to add one, I must go to the Administrator Console/Service Pages/Access/SP Account. It takes a while to load the whole bunch, you see.
So the question is:
Is there only 1 way (like I described above) to create SP Accounts or is there another (and faster) way?

If so, please tell me...
Thx

Re: Create SP-Accounts

Hi Bart,

can the users use service pages to create their own account taking away the responsibility from the SD admins?

SP lets users request an SP account to be created for them if they don't have one.

Re: Create SP-Accounts

Hi Mark, thx for the answer

No they can not. But I did not know this feature excists.

It's another setup here.
In fact when a new user is added to the LDAP (datebase personnel) the person will be created in HPOpenView Service Desk automaticaly. A SP-Account will be created at the same time also automatically.
Reason for this: The user can use the same password for his mailbox and for service pages.
So there is no reason to use the SP to let user request an SP-Account.

Maybe you've got another trick to create SP-Accounts faster? :-)

Re: Create SP-Accounts

Hi Bart,

There is simple way.

1) open the Service Page Person Record
2) Click on the Advanced Find (Quick find) optoin under Account field
3) type a known Account Name and press Ok
4) It will list the account name, do not select it rather right click on the blank display window, say new
5) now go ahead and create the account you would like to
6) Copy the display name,
7) come back to the same advanced find window , paste it and press ok -- Ok

now you are done

hope this helps you
