Create Classification List (tree) from file

Greetings...I was wondering if it is at all possible to build the contents of the Classification (for Service Calls) list by importing from a specially formatted file (i.e, a TEXT, Excel Spreadsheet, etc.)?

Hello Marco Antonio,

Yes, you can import classification (as almost any other code) through data exchange.

Re: Create Classification List (tree) from file

Great! But is it possible to import the actual tree structure as well?

How would I go about representing this in an excel spreadsheet so that when the Tree is ceated the codes are distributed correctly in heir correct levels?

Re: Create Classification List (tree) from file

Hello,

This is quite simple. A column will hold the classification, the other the classification parent.

Construct the excel in such way that the classification with parents to be in the bottom.

For example if you have this structure
A
..B
....C
..D
..E
..G
....H

Your excel should be like
A
B
D
E
G
B A
C B
H G

THanks buddy! I understand what you're proposing...is this easy enough to map out in the Data Exchange?
