Re: Cluster Support of SD

Shanmugam,

Tread very carefully my friend. Our HP consultant gave our clustered database environment a thumbs up, so we assumed it was ok. Now that we have stability and performance issues, HP support has told us that a clustered environment with multiple databases is "a problem".

If you ask HP for advice, just make sure you're talking to support.

Re: Cluster Support of SD

This is all I can find on the supported platform list.
for sd 4.5,
db - Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Cluster (as of SD4.5 SP16)

OpenView Operations for Windows 7.5 Cluster (as of SD4.5 SP16)

for sd 5.0, not supported
for sd 5.1,
db - Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Cluster Service Pack 4 (as of SD5.10 patch1)

Re: Cluster Support of SD

Hi,

Sorry I not getting clarity. Our environment is UNIX.

1. SD application -

a. Is it Cluster Aware ?
b. which clusters it supports

2. Database

a.Whether SD has native database or it has to use Oracle/SQL only ?

Re: Cluster Support of SD

Not sure whether the SD application is cluster aware. Doubt it.

It does not have a native db and can only use either Oracle or MS SQL server only. Also, SQL 2005 is only supported with newer service packs.
