We are facing a problem in customizing the user (custom) views through View -> Current View -> Customize Curent View. This happenes to all the users even if the Role has the option "Define/Customize vies allowed" checked. However, the user can customize thier own views by clicking on the icon available on the upper right corner in the client.
Any clue why this option is not enabled ? This gets enabled when we check the role option "Cutomize system views allowed' but this is not permitted to general users. Also this issue is not there in old client.
When in the role you enable the option: "Define/Customize views allowed", the user with that role will be able to Define and Customize its OWN created views, which means that he can create views of his own, and edit them... but he will NOT be able to edit the views that are already there, created by the Admin, e.g. those via Presentation> Views> Service Call
Now, if you also enable for the role the option "Customize system views allowed", then the user will be able to create and edit HIS OWN views AND edit the views that were created by the Admin, via Presentation> Views> Service Call.
This is by design and makes sense if you read it carefully....
Actually these things are already known to us and our users have used the option "Define/Customize vies allowed" very well to customize thier own views (not system views). But here the problem is that this option does help in customizing user created views, i.e. their own views. This is only enabled when we check the option 'Customize system views allowed' option. which will also allow system view to be customized.
Do you have any idea why this option is not working correctly in Client 2008?
