This also happens to me sometimes in service calls when the application server has load.
There is though another way to force the closing of this "undead" windows. Use advanced find and enter the id of the item that remains open. Double click from there to open and once opened just close it without saving. The window will go away. However if you have this kind of trouble in every item you should open a case to hewlett packard. I cannot because i cannot easily duplicate it.
