CR in text field via UI Rule

Hi, all.

Let me ask you a question. I am updating a text field with UI Rule and I need to place a CR (carriage return) symbol in it. All attempts to pass that symbol with rule constuctor failed. Can it be done?

Thanks!

Re: CR in text field via UI Rule

To pass CR you need to make double click on "Fixed Value" in rule form and you will get separate form-text field, where you will be able to enter more than one row of text.

See attachment.

I hope this helps,

Re: CR in text field via UI Rule

Hi Andy
You need use %line.separator% in Rule between text where need set a new line, but if your server platform is SUN, then you will have only \n symbol without \r, on Windows this problem don't come. If like look this too http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1024655

Re: CR in text field via UI Rule

Hi,Vassili,

I tried to use %0A% as Fixed value, concatenated with other text in field, but the result looks 'as is': 'text%0A%'. I think fixed value field doesn't accept any commands, only text.

Re: CR in text field via UI Rule

Hi
Try this : text%line.separator%text2 and etc.
Rules supported Java varables, varables must be %%.
