Business Objects for HP OVSD 4.5

I've a setup for HP OVSD 4.5 with SP24
I used BO for creating reports. In my HP OVSD forms I use some custom fields.
When designing the reports, I can see up to 10 custom fields in the BO, though there are more than that and they are used. For example, I'm using Custom Field 30, and I want to display a report related to it.

Final question, where can I find some support on BO for HP OVSD?

Re: Business Objects for HP OVSD 4.5

Hi Yousef,

New custom field wiil not be listed in the universe.to list it.you will have to create object for this.

Go to Designer and select the Corresponding module(Servicecall or Problem etc.) table and custome field tabe. create the joint between tables and create corresponding object.

If new field is not listed in table.just refresh it once.it will be listed

Hope it will help.

Thanks,

Re: Business Objects for HP OVSD 4.5

Thank you very much. What you said EXACTLY did the job.
After I did what you advised, I could see the Custom Field in the Universe. Still, it did not display the stored values.

Now, I have a question, How to know what custom field to choose. I mean I re-named one of the custom fields, so I don't know what is its original name.

Let me re-phrase. I renamed a custom field to "TEAM". Of course, but I don't remember what is the original name of the custom field (e.g. CustomField30 or CustomField5 ....etc). How can I figure it out?

I hope my question is clear.

Re: Business Objects for HP OVSD 4.5

Go to Administrator Console, open the form whre the particular custom field is added. Right click on that field and select Rename. In the right hand side under General Tab, the field Key will be the original name as it was previously.
Hope this helps

Hi Yousef,

Did you build your own universes?

Cheers

Hi
No, I did not. It's an existing implementation.

Re: Business Objects for HP OVSD 4.5

So they are standard universes from a supplier? I am interested.
